I am in beauty heaven right now – the new Blue Tie Dior Collection is now available in store and online.
The whole is sure to sell out fast and believe me you’ll want every single piece from this to-die-for collection.
The collection pays homage to midnight blue with lavish variations and sublime shades of white, nude and silver.
My ultimate star product is the cigarette-style palette (above) that opens up to reveal 4 shades. The shades are divine – a mixture of shimmer and matte so you can create a variety of looks whilst experimenting with different intensities. Plus, there’s a luxurious nude lip shade so you can literally just gloss-up and go.
The smoky eye is reinvented in a new 3 Couleurs Smoky Eyeshadow, it allows you to build looks from the most simple to the most glamorous. The packaging is super cool too. Slide it open and up pops a handy mirror – genius.
Dior Vernis in Tuxedo (as modelled above by Jenny Hayden) is truly divine. The intense colour attracts attention wherever you go.
How To Tips
To accompany the new collection Dior’s International Beauty Expert Shane Paish shares his top 3 tips on how to get the perfect smoky eye:
1) Metallic base
“My thing is that I always use a slightly metallic base eyeshadow, rather than a matte or sparkly one, as it make powder look like a part of the skin rather than an obvious layer of make-up”
2) Create definition
“When someone doesn’t have a very defined upper eyelid or much of a lash line, shading does not tend to show that well, so I balance this by intensifying the smokiness underneath the eye too, with a small brush”
3) Mascara Tip
“I usually place a couple of big blobs of mascara, with the point of the brush, right at the base of the outer lashes. You won’t see it, but you’ll get a lot of thickness at the base of the lashes, giving the effect of two false lashes!”
