Beauty trend alert…neon brights & colour blocking
Colour blocking and neon brights are major trends this season.
Fluro, neon. colour blocking – whatever you want to call it there’s a rainbow spectrum of colours including orange, red, pink, yellow, green and blue that you just have to experiment with. Here’s how to do it:
For the Eyes
When colour blocking you need to be colour aware. Make sure the shades you use complement each other. To make it easier choose eyeshadow palettes that feature the perfect contrasts. For instance, I highly recommend YSL’s Pure Chromatics eyeshadow palettes and Dior 5 Couleurs Iridescent eyeshadow palette.
For the lips
A pop of colour to the lips is a must-do this spring, Coral, fuschia and red are the hottest shades around. Don’t forget to use a lip liner to stop the colour from bleeding. If you want to make a strong lip statement use a contrasting lip liner. For instance if you’re going to wear a red lipstick, use a contrasting coloured lip liner. I recommend using YSL’s Rouge Pur Couture lipstick in Le Orange, Le Rouge and Fuchia innocent.
For the nails
The quickest way to update your look with colour is to use a bright nail polish. I recommend Estee Lauder’s Pure Color Nail Laquer. Alternatively, for colour blocking use Star by Julien Macdonalds’s fashion fix nail collection or Betty. Jackson.Black Colour rich nail collection. Choose a colour from either of these collections as a base and then pick a contrasting shade to coat the tips of the nail. The look is totally on-trend and easy to achieve.
