Get a Glam-Gothic look
Twilight mania has started with the fourth Twilight film, Breaking Dawn Pt 1 coming to our screens this week.
At the LA premiere Kirsten Stewart opted for a glam-goth look. With her swept back in a simple bun, the actress focused on her eyes using a dark smoky palette and just a hint of colour to the lips.
This isn’t the first time she’s ditchd her tomboy look in favour of a more glam-goth look, the actress recently appeared in a shoot for Vogue Italia looking vampy and sexy. Again her eyes were smoky and smouldering whilst the rest of the face was kept minimal. It seems that other celebs are following suit, or they’ve just been hit with Twilight fever. At the weekend, Lady Gaga appeared on xfactor in a decapitated corpse dress with a dramatic make up look and Sharon Stone went glam-goth on the red carpet at the 2011 Governors Ball.
To get your own glam-goth as featured above and modelled by BAFTA winning actress Vicky McClure just follow these few simple steps by Illamasqua.
Apply Skin Base foundation to create the perfect base; a darker shade of Skin Base can be used to contour. To add a subtle glow, apply Bronzing Duo in Writhe in the places that the sun would naturally hit – the nose, cheeks and forehead. Powder Blusher in Lover (soft apricot with a matt finish) offers a flush to the cheeks to finish the flawless base.
Powder Eye Shadow in Matt Boomerang (deep burnished brown with a matt finish) is swept all over the lid from the lower lash line and up to just below the brow bone using Blending Brush 1 as a base to the eye look. To add a visual contrast of colours and glam-goth inspired richness, press Powder Eye Shadow in Daemon (bright scarlet red with a matt finish) onto the outer corners of the socket and blend out and across the lid to the nose bone. For added texture, apply a light dusting of Powder Eye shadow in Shimmer Bronx (pale bronze-gold with a shimmer finish) on top of Daemon.
To highlight under the brow bone and the inner corner of the eye, add a sprinkling of Pure Pigment in Furore, (a champagne peach shimmer).
Under the lower lash line, sweep Medium Pencil in Sophie (pure black) and blend out using an Eye Shadow Brush for a smoky look.
To finish the look, add a slick of Precision Ink in Abyss (gloss black), winging the colour out at the edges to create a sharp, structured shape and lashings of Masquara – the new mascara from Illamasqua.
Vicky’s nails were given a shot of shimmering deep ruby red using Nail Varnish in Scarab [and given an extra glossy, long-lasting finish courtesy of Illamasqua Nail Base Coat and Nail Top Coat]
