Dresses with sleeves to flatter problem upper arms

We recently had a comment from Lynne on the blog who was desperate to find more 1940s style dresses with sleeves to flatter her figure…
“PLEASE, PLEASE can someone cater more for the over-50’s who have problems with flabby arms? The 1940’s dress styles with their particular sleeves are SUPERB for our age group, but no-one seems to have realised that yet. Anyone who started up a constant range of 1940 styled dresses would make a fortune. It is NOT the same having a shrug cover-up, although they are pretty enough. We need tailored dresses of the 1940’s to help us make the most of our older bodies!” Lynne (age 64) size 14

Top tips for flattering larger upper arms:
- Floaty, loose sleeves will be really comfortable and flattering too
- Try a cape style sheer sleeve for a fashionable way to conceal your upper arms
- Tighter, more tailored sleeves can look great but be sure to try on for the comfort factor
- Wearing a statement necklace to draw the eye to the centre of the body is a good trick
- Make sure to play up the areas of your body that you love, if you’ve got great legs try a shorter length, long sleeved dress for example
