Cassie, our style advisor, is answering your style dillemmas today and we’ve had a question from Madeline who’s lucky enough to be off on a cruise…
Q: What to wear in the evenings for a 7 day Alaska cruise? Not too over the top as there is only one formal evening. I’m 5ft 3 and size 16. Madeline
Firstly I’m jealous of your fabulous holiday but I completely understand your packing worries. For your formal evening it would be great to have a beautiful dress. Go for something simple that falls just below the knee and then dress it up with accessories and a cardigan – you can always take some jewellery away if you feel overdone.
Other essentials worth packing include some fabulous-fitting trousers which you could team with a gorgeous digital print top. Also try a slinky jersey top, the Principles Petite by Ben de Lisi range has some lovely ones to choose from.
When it comes to shoes, a shoe with a low wedge is practical and versatile for the evenings and don’t forget a comfortable pair of walking shoes for daytime.
For the more casual days on board the boat, some dark wash denim trousers are a fab choice, just team with a blazer and long sleeved top or a waterproof jacket with a fleecy lining if it gets a bit nippy. A great scarf will keep off the chill in the evenings too.
Have a fabulous time…
