Beach Boutique: Seaside Style Secrets

The summer holidays are supposed to be a time for relaxation, frolicking in the surf and taking in the sunshine – so why do so many of us ladies stress out at the idea of strutting our stuff on the beach?
In today’s age of celebrity magazines and paparazzi we are, unfortunately, so used to seeing beachside shots of actresses and models scrutinised to such a degree, we can’t help but scrutinise our own too.
Trying to stop is a little bit like asking us to stop breathing – assessing out bodies has become second nature. With this in mind, while long term we aim to beat the body berating, in the short term Debenhams can offer a few swimwear tips and tricks to ensure you look body beautiful this summer – and feel it too.
The swimsuits at Debenhams offer the perfect range to shop if you are looking for tummy controlling swimsuits, with Beach Collection and Melissa Odabash offering some stylish stunners. With many different colours, patterns, shapes and sizes to choose from, you’ll find one to suit your style and flatter your figure.
If you prefer to cover up in the sun then a kaftan or a sarong are the style options for you. The Melissa Odabash beachwear range offers a gorgeous coral kaftan that is both summery and stylish when thrown over your swimsuit, while classic black from Beach Collection is ideal for a classic holiday piece that will go with simply everything. If you only feel self-conscious about your bums and thighs, but quite like your tum, then wrap a sarong low around the waist, emphasising your most loved bits, hiding those you like least.
For many women, baring all on holiday is all about the boobs, with a recent survey revealing that British women feel bigger isn’t always better. In fact, over 90% of women admitted to varying their swimwear choice – minimising or maximising their assets according to whom they are holidaying with, be it family, friends or their partner.
In response, Debenhams launched an ‘Ultimate’ range of bikinis created to give women optimum cleavage control with three levels of bust-boosting technology - Natural, Mega and Extreme. For the natural option, a padded cup offers a subtle upward lift to give a more defined, rounded shape. The ‘Mega’ consists of a gel-filled cup for a fuller silhouette, increasing bust by one cup size and offering underwired support. Finally, the ‘Extreme’ is made up of foam padding to dramatically boost your bust by two cup sizes.
With all of this on offer from tummy control swimsuits to kaftans, sarongs to boob boosting bikinis at least, this summer, we ladies can say our options are increased too.
