Straight after opening my presents on Christmas and grabbing a glass of Champagne I head straight to the mirror to put on my makeup. My sisters on the other hand, laze around and don’t usually do their makeup until later on in the day.

I’ve already thought about the look I want to create – I’m thinking a golden smokey eye look with a touch of sparkle. Firstly I’ll dress-up the eyes. I’ll start by using Benefit’s Stray Don’t Stray primer and then start to create a golden smokey eye using the combination of golden matt and shimmer shades in Urban Decay’s NYC Book of Shadows eyeshadow palette. Then I’ll create a graphic outline to the eyes with bareMinerals Big & Bright eyeliner pencil and smudge to create a smokey eye effect. Next it’s onto lashings and lashings of mascara – my ultimate favourite is DiorShow by Dior.

As my eyes will be the focus, I’ll keep the rest of my face minimal. I’ll put on the ever-trusty Touche Eclat by YSL followed by Le Teint Miracle Liquid Foundation by Lancome and then add a little a flush of colour to cheeks with Lancome’s Blush Subtil Blusher. Finally I’ll coat the lips with a tinted lipgloss such as Dior’s Rouge Dior Creme de Gloss in Beige Elixir.

There you have it, my perfect Christmas Day look. For those close to you that share a passion for beauty, Debenhams offer a fantastic range of beauty gift sets which are a staple of Christmas shopping.
