London Fashion Week is well underway so we headed backstage with Benefit, at Mark Fast, to get the lowdown on the fashion week beauty looks.
Pink may be the fashionable colour of the season but if Mark Fast’s show is anything to go by, the feminine hue has the beauty industry blushing too. With neon pink liner combined with blue mascara and bright lips, the look was magical.
Head Makeup Artist, Lisa Potter-Dixon, spoke about her inspiration behind the ‘Frozen Under A Rainbow’ look: “She’s frozen under a rainbow with the soft reflection of the colour wheel embedded into her skin, with her frost bitten brow quiff framing her face.” You heard right, the brow quiff is a thing. If you’re intrigued by this magical look, here’s everything you’ll need…
Create ‘The Brow Quiff’ by drawing hair like strokes with Precisely, My Brow eyebrow pencil at the front of the brow only. Follow this with Gimme Brow volumising eyebrow gel and Ready, Set, BROW! clear brow gel. Brush upwards for a feathered finish.
The upside down blush begins by patting Majorette cream blush from the temple down to the top of the cheekbone. Blend this through into the hair line. Go over this with the new GALifornia blusher (coming soon) and Hervana blusher to create a fresh, pastel looking finish.
For the eyes, use the purple from the Hervana blusher and buff this on the outer section of the eye. Blend this into the blusher. Pat Watts Up! highlighter onto the inner half of the eye. To finish, dip a damp blush, into GALifonia blusher (coming soon) and draw a line along the lash line. Finish with They’re Real! lengthening mascara in Beyond Blue on the top lashes only.
For the lips, use They’re Real! Double the lip in a colour of your choice. Opt for the brighter shades for impact. Then finish by patting High Beam highlighter onto the apples of the cheeks and the cupid’s bow.
