The start of September brings new beginnings, back to school and back to work. After long holidays spent relaxing with minimal make up and simple beauty routines, it’s hard to get back to an office-worthy regime.

To make the transition from holiday to work a little easier, we’ve put together a five minute beauty routine that’s perfect for busy days. Whether you’ve got a few minutes at home or apply your make up on the train, this routine is perfect for wherever you’re running to in the morning.

Step 1: Moisturise and prep

Preparation is key to make up application so even if you’re in a rush don’t skip this step. Elizabeth Arden’s eight hour cream is a multi-tasking beauty hero, apply to face, lips and dry patches.

Step 2: Even and perfect skin

A new generation of foundations are making foundation application a whole lot faster (and easier). Estée Lauder’s cushion foundation stick is a liquid foundation and applicator in one, so all you need to do is apply and blend.

mascara

Step 3: Define and open eyes

Slick a coat of mascara on to widen and brighten tired eyes. This curling mascara with shaped brush removes the need for eyelash curlers, meaning your lashes can be curled and lengthened in one swoop.

brows

Step 4: Frame the face

It may be tempting to skip brows in a rush but there are plenty of handy tools that neaten brows in a flash. Bobbi Brown’s eyebrow pencil has a brush on one end and a uniquely angled pencil on the other, so you can brush and fill brows without the need for numerous products.

Step 5: Add pops of colour

After perfecting the essentials, you’ll want to add a little colour. A cheek and lip tint is the best way to add colour in a hurry; simply brush on and blend with fingers to add a natural looking colour to cheeks and lips.

With all that extra time on your hands, it looks like you’re going to have to set that alarm a little later…
