Bra Fit event: Will you measure up?

Do you know your bra size? You might think so but, on average, most women tend to be wearing the wrong size, that’s why October at Debenhams is ‘Bra Fit’ month – a time when we invite you to pop into store and meet our experts…
Extremely knowledgable when it comes to measuring up assets, the in store experts are on hand to advise you of the points to consider when it comes to choosing a bra – armed with a tape measure to check your cups.
The ‘Bra Fit’ initiative campaign aims to encourage all women to re-think, and re-measure, their bra size. Throughout October, Debenhams is seeking to highlight that the majority of women actually wear the wrong sized bra, an issue that can lead to ill-fitting clothes, discomfort and a shapeless figure.
Myself, I was measured during the last Debenhams ‘Bra Fit’ campaign, held back in April. Having been the same size for years, or so I thought, I happily volunteered to be measured – only to discover I was wearing a cup size too small, with the bra itself two inches too big.
From first hand experience, I can confirm that the extra cup, and loss of two inches, has made all the difference to my comfort and, I feel, my shape. Of course, I needed to buy several new bras once I realised my size was different, but what girl doesn’t love buying new lingerie?
If you need a little incentive, however, to ease you shopping conscience, bear in mind that, throughout Bra Fit, Debenhams will be giving away 50p from every bra sold to Breast Cancer Care – part of Debenhams’ own charity initiative ‘Think Pink’.
