Don’t tie yourself in a [wrong] knot

There are a few things we are taught and learn from an early age.
Counting to 10, learning the alphabet off by heart, washing your hands after you’ve been to the bathroom and knowing when to say “please” and “thank you”.
I was always under the impression tying the laces on your brand new shoes correctly also fell into that category. But it turns out I’ve been doing it wrong for nearly 30 years. And I bet it applies to some of you too.
Don’t believe me? Watch this great video by Terry Moore at a 2005 TED (Technology. Entertainment. Design) lecture in California.
In it he describes how the knot that you and I, probably, would have learned as children is not necessarily wrong, just weak ie. not very good and comes undone more often.
So, sit back relax and – possibly – learn something new.
…and I bet the first thing you do after watching this is try it. Trust me, it works.
