British GQ’s annual Men of the Year Awards is the perfect prelude to London Fashion Week -the award-winning Condé Nast men’s lifestyle title (AKA men’s Vogue) – now in its 17th year – never fails to bring in the best in film, music, and TV, as well as an international who’s-who of impeccably dressed stars.

Winners comprised an eclectic list including Lewis Hamilton (Sportsman), Van Morrison (Legend), Christopher Bailey (Designer), Iggy Pop (Icon), and none other than headline-maker extraordinaire Kim Kardashian, who received the Woman of the Year award. Here’s who won in the style stakes, according to us:

1. A glowing Nicole Scherzinger looked positively stunning in a ruched, pastel bandeau dress by Ermanno Scervino. Her dark talon manicure and statement jewellery give the ensemble just the right amount of edge.
2. We love it when Alexa Chung goes über-elegant. The star cut a sculpted figure in a long-sleeved metallic blue faille top and matching skirt from Carven.
3. British model Jourdan Dunn displayed flawless curves as she took her place in the limelight in in a floor-grazing, cut-out Zuhair Murad Couture gown.

1. He who needs no introduction, David Gandy, remains a firm fixture on our best-dressed lists, looking dapper as ever in a classic three-piece black suit and bow-tie.
2. Spanish model Jon Kortajarena stood out from the crowd for his fresh choice of white shirt, jacket, pocket square and monochrome boat shoes. And his olive skin. And his chiseled cheekbones. And…basta.
3. Handsome London-born actor Douglas Booth (who won the Hugo Boss Most Stylish Man award) looked the picture of masculine elegance.

Note: Douglas is also incredibly polite and well-spoken. Upon receiving his award, he said: “GQ, you’ve been patiently and stylishly educating me forever. To be truly stylish you have to be kind and courteous. I look out here tonight and see a lot of people who are just that. You’ve all influenced me so much.” Is that sweet or is that sweet?
