As the weather started to cool down in October, we were intrigued to see how the A-listers would adapt to the chill and we weren’t disappointed.

We round up some of our favourite dressed up and dressed down looks from the last three months of 2014 and we think they really did leave the best to last…

October

Filled with countless galas and premieres, October did not let us down when it came to high-octane red carpet glamour. Blake Lively blew us all away while debuting her baby bump in a soft pastel floor-sweeping gown, while Lily Aldridge showed us how to work the two piece suit to perfection at a New York event. Despite the winter chill, we were delighted to see the bold summer brights of SS15 already making their mark on the red carpet such as Kate Hudson in this vibrant coral Temperley London dress.

When it came to street style we loved the experimentation taking place among the fashion elite from Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s head-to-toe white ensemble to Poppy Delevingne’s denim dungarees and Miranda Kerr’s floral jumpsuit. Who said casual has to be boring?

November

November continued to provide head-turning red carpet looks – Kate Middleton looked effortlessly elegant in a Diane von Furstenberg black lace gown at The Royal Variety Performance in London while across the pond fellow Brit Emily Blunt looked stunning in a vibrant fuchsia pink Michael Kors gown at the Governors Awards in LA. Always the life and soul of the party, Poppy Delevingne added a dose of fun to the Topshop opening party in a mini dress paired with pointed metallic heels and an oversized fur coat. That’s one way to beat the cold in style.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley joined the long list of celebrities spotted wearing a personalised Burberry poncho while Alexa Chung worked the checked trend while out and about in London. Olivia Palermo mastered cold weather dressing  in a fur gilet and this season’s hottest boot shape, the over-the-knee.

December

The party season was in full swing in December, bringing with it a whole host of enviable party styles. The red carpet (blue in this case) wow moment came courtesy of most-talked-about actress of the moment, Felicity Jones, in a statement full skirted white gown while attending London’s The Theory of Everything premiere in which she has a leading role. Olivia Palermo got into the spirit of the season in shimmering sequins while Reese Witherspoon added a pop of colour to proceedings at the Wild screening in New York wearing a white dress sprinkled with delicate 3D flower embellishments.

Always one step ahead of the trends, Kate Bosworth modelled the must-have piece for spring/summer 2015 – the denim jacket, while the queen of cool, Rihanna, kept it casual yet chic in ripped knee jeans while in London. Over in New York, Blake Lively continued to show mums-to-be the world over how to dress your bump in style pairing a cosy knit and leather trousers with a fur-trimmed cape.

So that concludes our best dressed 2014 series and we think you’ll agree that 2014 has ended on a fashionable high. If the new year brings more looks like this, we say bring on 2015!
