For some people, sequins and sparkles get their style mojo going. For me, it’s all about embroidery. A little smattering of something on the arm, or an all over folk design – it doesn’t matter to me, I love it all. This season Debenhams are all over embellishment. They asked me to trial some of the looks – and here’s how I got on.
My first outfit is a cool take on quite a prim style, but with a twist. I love the ruffled pinafore, which I know will become an outfit staple. Teamed with an off the shoulder striped blouse it looks modern – and I love the bold contrast embroidery.
Be still my beating, embroidered heart! If you’re a fan of feminine, girly dresses, have a wedding to attend or just fancy treating yourself this season, may I introduce you to the bohemian dress of dreams. In a beautiful muted peach, with silver embroidery it’s the ultimate, flattering style to suit all shapes. I’ve teamed it with silver mules to add a more edgy take.
The mix of texture and print on this outfit is what appeals to me. I love toughening up the pretty dress with this leather jacket – although the embroidery on that makes it feel contemporary. The trainers are an easy way to buy into the trend – wear with everything from denim to midi skirts.
A summer hero piece if ever there was one – this hot pink, fluted sleeve blouse will be one you keep reaching for. I’ve teamed it with wide leg trousers and clashing bold orange shoes for an unexpected mix. Throw this cool Henry Holland camo print and embroidered jacket into the mix and you’ve got an embellished look that’s as far from boho as you can get!
