London Collections: Men, kicked off the international fashion month last week on the 8th January; giving us a taste of what we can expect to be hitting the stores, street and celeb style for autumn/winter 2016.
With the LCM set now on their way to see what the designers have in store in Milan and Paris, we look back over the top trends that emerged on the London catwalks.
On the Catwalk
It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for – style meets comfort. It doesn’t matter what the fabric or print is as long as the trousers are a slouched fit or an oversized shape according to the catwalks. Paired with an oversized coat and baggy jumper, your outfit is complete and it’s time to get loose.
From brass copper and burnt orange to pillar box red and burgundy; say hello to your capsule colour scheme for the end of the year. Whether it’s in outerwear, accessories or a complete outfit look; this seventies-inspired palette is one to remember.
Sir, yes, sir. The trusty military trend is back in full force. Bomber jackets, parkas and utility trousers marched down the runways this season. It’s your opportunity to go all out with military-inspired hues as we’ve spotted khaki colours, camo prints and quilted coats all hitting the fashion front line.
It’s time to read between the lines so opt for classic monochrome stripe or try bold colour blocking this autumn. This print will be key in your winter wardrobe so stock up on all striped scarves, shirts and suits now to get ahead of the trend.
With the blurred lines of gender becoming more and more apparent on the fashion scene, the popular womenswear ‘Metallics’ trend is now making it’s way onto the menswear catwalks. Gentlemen, silks and metallic fabrics are about to arrive in your wardrobe, try a pyjama shirt or silk bomber jacket to add a luxe edge to your masculine style.
Other notable trends – from fine features to fabulous fabrics – spotted on the AW16 catwalks:
Off the Catwalk
The fashion was not just reserved to the catwalks as the world’s most stylish men descended on London’s streets. FROW veteran and beau to Olivia Palermo, Mr Johannes Huebl, amongst other respected gentlemen were sporting men’s fashion foie gras. Here are a few of our favourite looks.
