As the curtains close on SS15 Couture Fashion Week in Paris, we’re left to dream about the beautiful dresses from the spectacular shows. Adoring Haute Couture goes hand in hand with our love for occasionwear therefore, in light of the impending wedding season, this week is ideal timing for a touch of wardrobe inspiration…

We’ve rounded up the most showstopping trends that graced the catwalk; from daring cut outs to 3D blooms, today’s couture is full of surprises. Here are three of our favourite trends that we can’t wait to rock at the next wedding…

Barely There

From the moment Kate Hudson turned up at Atelier Versace wearing an über revealing red number, we knew the intricate barely there style was going to be big news. The look came in various guises, with more flesh than fabric for the most confident and simple cut out waists for the more demure lady. Whether sliced and diced or strategically embroidered, this season’s motto really is less is more.

Layers of Tulle

Couture is known for dressing the red carpet crowd and this season the gowns are featherlight and frothing with layers of tulle. Frills of the fabric lined sorbet coloured hems to create an ethereal, romantic mood. This spring, make sure your gown is floating in the clouds with whimsical layers of the fairy-tale textile.

Modern Texture

Elaborate craftmanship is an intrinsic part of Haute Couture, but this year they took texture to new heights. Christian Dior’s encrusted dresses were layered with translucent plastic to offer a modern touch, while leaves gently floated down chiffon Elie Saab gowns. But the game changer of the week had to be the Viktor & Rolf mini dresses that sprouted vibrant flowers from their hems, proving florals really can be groundbreaking, after all.
