Here at head office we girls were in for a treat as Jeff Banks and our pink pants hunk, Jay Conroy, popped outside Debenhams this morning to brighten up our day…

Long standing Designer at Debenhams Jeff Banks has designed a pair of pink pants to show his support and raise money for Debenhams’ ‘Think Pink’ breast cancer initiative. Here to answer all your questions, we have all you need to know about Jeff Banks Pink Pants.

FB (Prima magazine): We’re so excited to be working with you on this brilliant initiative and we’ve already had some fantastic entries in from readers for our hunk in trunks competition! A quick question for Jay – what modelling tips would you give to reader hubbys/ brothers/ nephews who are thinking of entering?

Jay: That’s great that we have had some fantastic entries! Make sure that you moisture up your face and put some product into your hair before doing you r entry photograph. If you prefer the shaved look on your head, make sure you moisturise that too! This competition is for anyone with the confidence to enter! I was really shy until Jeff persuaded me to get into modelling!

FB: Why did you decided to create the pink pants?

Jeff: I created the pink pants to raise money for breast cancer charities and to make men more aware of the campaign and to understand how much anguish women go through worrying about breast cancer!

FB: What made you get involved with the fashion targets cancer campaign and design for Debenhams?

Jeff: I was at dinner with Moira Fahey at the Prima Fashion awards and Moira was the editor. The Prima awards raises money for cancer breast charity events and by coincidence Debenhams was starting its Think Pink campaign this year. I said to Moira it was a shame that men weren’t aware of the trauma that breast cancer can create for a whole family and we should do something to increase men’s awareness. While I was walking home I thought of the pink pants idea and phone Michael Sharp, the boss of Debenhams the following morning and asked him what he thought of the idea. Let’s do it was his immediate response and hence the pink pants campaign was born!

FB: For your fashion targets breast cancer range of underwear will there be briefs as well as boxers?

Jeff: No just one style this year, so boxers only. We took this decision as we felt more than one style actually makes the range to big. However next year we are considering extending the range to briefs.

FB: You’ve been in the fashion business a while. Is it harder or easier to find inspiration for new designs?

Jeff: It’s much, much harder because the fashion industry has become so competitive and people are a lot cleverer and more competitive these days, against when I got started. I get my inspiration on Saturdays and Sunday while I’m out riding my bike and make up the themes that are going to comprise the next collection while I’m out cycling. So next year my themes are based around the Americas yacht race and south beach Miami.

This week, in our nation’s capital, the annual Chelsea Flower Show has come to town with celebs, royalty (and even us mere mortals) getting into the floral spirit of things with some bloomin’ lovely style.

Already spotted at the show, Prince Harry was clearly feeling affected by the floral scent in the air – said to enhance positivity – snapped happily embracing family and friends at the event.

When it comes to Cannes, it pays to be glam, as the red carpet for the prestigious film festival has demonstrated over the course of the last week.

Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore, Cara Delevigne and Cheryl Cole are just a host of names to have graced the festival with their stylish presence.

Isla Fisher, in Dolce & Gabbana no less, wowed the crowds at The Great Gatsby photocall with her elegant take on daytime chic. A simple white dress, with cut out pattern detail, the actress gave a nod to monochrome with pep-toe black shoes, team with simple gold earrings and a slick of red lipstick. Never mind The Great Gatsby, Isla’s style more than lived up to our great expectations. For evening glamour, Lana del Ray showed us why Mulberry love her so much they named a bag after her (jealous much?), with a showstopping turn in a decadent gown by Austrian designer Lena Hoschek. The intricate black detail reminds us of the Lexy tapework Collection 8 dress from Phase Eight with Star by Julien Macdonald crystal and pearl set earrings the perfect accessory to complete the glamourpuss, reminiscent of old school Hollywood glamour.
Still in full fashionable flow, the red carpet looks at Cannes are popping up on style sites daily presenting a fabulous mix of modern glamour and vintage style.

They think it’s all over…it is now.

After nearly 530 games for clubs including Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Paris St Germain – and who could forget Preston North End – David Beckham has decided to hang up his boots.

The former England called time on his professional football career which has seen the 38-year-old go from plucky schoolboy to global celebrity.

But while all the football accolades cannot be forgotten, it’s worth remembering Beckham has always been at the forefront of men’s fashion – regardless of if he always hit the target.

Beckham was an integral part of London’s successful bid to host the Olympic Games in 2012 so it was no surprise to see him with the Olympic flame when it touched down in the UK.

True to form he wore a classic navy suit with a smart blue shirt which had a white collar.

The Debenhams AW13 press show came to London town today – Soho to be precise – giving fashion insiders a sneak peek of what’s in store when the colder months creep back in. And, because we can’t keep anything to ourselves, we’ve decided to let you in on our style secrets for the autumn/winter season…

First up, we have to shout about how excited we are about the new Designer coats that are coming up in the new collections. This editor’s favourite simply has to be the deep pink Jonathan Saunders/EDITION number, but the vivid red, also by the talented Jonathan, and the dusky pink long and flared design from Rocha.John Rocha (all pictured below) are also on the wishlist – just in case I win the lottery/obtain a pay rise.

When it comes to dressing up, florals are looking fabulous for the season ahead with Preen/EDITION, Rocha. John Rocha and No.1 by Jenny Packham (below, left to right) all presenting eye-catching designs that will attract attention courtesy of their gorgeous prints. These three are definitely my favourites – particularly the Jenny Packham design (far right). A gorgeous vintage style, this dress is already earmarked for me at our Christmas ’13 office do – I’m hoping my colleagues read this and take note.

As for accessories, we can tell you that studs – are still in. Seen everywhere in autumn/winter ’12, on bags, hats, jewellery and jackets, I’m more than happy to know that the studded purse I invested in last year, will still be bang-on-trend. And, in a just-as-edgy variation on studs, I spied a gorgeous handbag adorned with chains.

Jewellery is all about making a statement, clearly, with a range of elaborate, sparkling necklaces also spotted at the press show. With short and long, gold and silver, elegant and trendy, we can safely say there’s a style to suit all in AW13.

Every now and then a trend occurs that transcends time and space. Alright then, it’s never happened…until now…

During the recent filming of the 50th anniversary Doctor Who special, former Tardis incumbent David Tennant was spotted sporting this tasty St George by Duffer brown jacquard floral slim tie.

So, with our best detective hat on we went in search of which wardrobe assistant went out to buy the tie.

Imagine our surprise when we found out that it wasn’t bought by anyone from the BBC but by someone who’s more than 900 years old, has two hearts and lives in a blue box that’s (altogether now) bigger on the inside than it is on the outside!

Need lingerie advice? Lingerie expert and founder of Fashion Forms, Ann Deal, popped into Debenhams this week to help you find the perfect underwear – be it for your body shape, to match a dress or simply in search of some fashion wisdom…

FB: I’m wearing a low cut dress/backless dress to an event but would like some support at the front. What would you suggest is the best type of bra to wear for this?
Ann: I would suggest the go bare bra because it has great support in the front with side wings and an underwire, http://po.st/VhcJNs. Make sure you put perfume on after you put on the go bare bra to get the best fitting – you will then get great support. Have a great time!

FB: There are lots of sheer mesh & cut out side panelled tops and dresses around, which style would you recommend wearing with this type of clothing?
Ann: For this seasons trend I would recommend the body sculpting backless push up bra. This bra has a nice plunge and lot of support as it’s all about the cups. For a cut out top this is great because it’s transparent, so it will enhance your dress or top.

FB: What inspired you to create Fashion Forms?
Ann: The adhesive body bra inspired me because it was a total backless, strapless piece of tape that answers a lot of problems for women who want to wear special occasion dresses that a conventional bra would not work with. This tape gives you great support whether it’s for a prom dress, wedding dress or for any special occasion – this product works so well. After the adhesive bra I put a pad under the bra to make it a strapless alternative, the collection continued to develop over the years and today we have 35 styles that continue to be solutions for women.

FB: I’m a pear shape and size 12 to 14. What type of summer dress would you recommend?

FB: You’ve had a great career – how did you get where you are today?

The wait is over, the feather boa is out of storage and the classic boater hat is ready to go…ladies and gentleman The Great Gatsby is here.

Baz Luhrmann’s interpretation of the Robert Redford 70s classic finally hits UK cinemas and with all the buzz surrounding its release you can be forgiven for being a little tired by it all.

But, you can guarantee the conversation in the pub or at work will involve the film-of-the-summer so let’s get you prepared…

Blazers, and a good, bold blazer, are essential. If you’re comfortable in single, cool, colours then stick with that. But if you’d like to change it up a bit we’d recommend any of the above.

Let’s begin with this smart Jasper Conran designer red mini gingham checked blazer. A fine shirt and trousers should also be top of your agenda.  The shirt, in a perfect world, should complement the overall look but also stand out in its own right.

A tricky balancing act, but not impossible.

Trousers can be treacherous but sticking with chinos means you can customise your look even further. You can roll them up in an instant and redress the balance just as quickly.

Now we need to give your shirt that extra ‘wow’ factor. How you ask? Easy. With a well-chosen bow tie or perfectly picked pair of braces.

And don’t stop there, these Osborne wine and navy striped braces and Osborne wine fleur de lys embroidered braces will go will almost any shirt choice so be brave and brace yourself.

Now, let’s get your accessories in order. Whether you like it or not Mister, you’re going to wear a hat and wear it with style.

Try this Red Herring natural striped trimmed straw trilby hat, not too gaudy and bang on trend – plus you can always take it off, right?

And the natural straw boater hat by Osborne looks great too. Just remember to tip it every time a woman walks past – and she will.

No outfit is complete without sterling footwear. To that end we’ve picked out three outstanding examples for you to choose from.

The Met Gala Ball, hosted by none other than American Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, this week returned to the red carpet with a dark and decadent theme – PUNK: Chaos to Couture.

Chanelling the darker side of fashion, A-listers flocked to New York’s Metropolitan Museum for the Costume Institute Gala’s annual affair – said by fashion insiders to be the world’s ‘best red carpet’.

While (almost) everyone worked the punk theme to glamorous perfection – with the exception of a bizarrely-attired Kim Kardashian – Gwyneth Paltrow, Ginnifer Goodwin, January Jones and Gwen Stefani, in particular, stole our hearts in the style stakes.

With Anna Wintour herself declaring ‘pink to be punk’, Gwyneth (recently voted the ‘World’s Most Beautiful Woman’ by People magazine) looked every inch the punk princess in her gorgeous gown from Valentino. Like the look? You’ll love our Red Herring maxi.

Ginnifer Goodwin rocked the dark theme with dramatic eyeliner (tip: team with metallic eyeshadow to really shine), as did January Jones, with both actresses opting for sparkling dresses. For Ginnifer’s gold and black custom Tony Burch number, we think our black shift from Principles by Ben de Lisi, with gold detail, reverses the colour emphasis for a fab little black dress with trim detail reminiscent of the actress’ star style. For January’s full-on glittering Chanel mini, the sequinned jersey dress from Star by Julien Macdonald is the perfect fit.

Still a big trend for the season, pop star and fashion designer Gwen showcased monochrome-meets-punk couture with an unusual design by Maison Martin Margiela. We think this monochrome Quiz dress, with punk-esque chain belt, is a fabulous high-street alternative.

And, if this editor was going to work the punk look? She’d definitely opt for a gorgeous number like the silver maxi stunner from Collection 8, at Phase Eight – with an equally eye-catching clutch not dissimilar to the above pictured style from Star by Julien Macdonald.

The cast and crew of the re-booted Star Trek franchise, under the watchful eye of JJ Abrams, have launched their latest stellar project – Star Trek: Into Darkness.

With the world watching, the film’s cast descended on London to not only show off the star-studded blockbuster but to also show us that it pays to look good…even in space.

So who better to focus on than Captain James T. Kirk himself – Chris Pine.

His outfit (pictured above) has all the hallmarks of a summer suit, and a fine one at that.

Now, this editor is feeling more than confident that a lunch-time dash to Debenhams will beat the post-bank holiday blues. And, if you’re thinking that a slight ‘nod’ to neon is definitely more your thing than a full-on embrace, the new season jewellery at Mood is certainly worth a look.

The latest cinematic version of The Great Gatsby is due to hit our screens any day now and, if the screen shots we’ve glimpsed so far are anything to go by, it’s been more than worth the wait – if only for the fashion…

It’s been a busy few months for Tottenham Hotspur and Wales footballer Gareth Bale.

The 23-year -old has enjoyed a stellar season in the Premier League and was rewarded this week when he was named the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) player of the year and young player of the year.

Bale was present at the awards ceremony in central London to collect his prize in a pristine black tie outfit – but that isn’t summery enough for us.

Prince Henry (or Harry if you’re close) is never one to shy away from wearing a classic navy suit.

The young prince has been wearing fine looking tailoring for most of his life, but as he’s matured into his 20s the suits have taken a more trend-led look.

Are you wearing the right bra? Sharon, our Head of Lingerie, is here to answer all our questions on how important finding the right bra size is, how to get properly fitted and what lingerie we should be wearing…

FB: Do you offer any non-wired bras?
Sharon: We do offer quite a wide range of non-wired or wire free bras – please check them out here http://bit.ly/11H78jX. I hope you find some styles that you like.

FB: I vote for the non-wired bras as they offer great shape! I also like the lacy bras without underwire that I wear which feel good and look good.
Sharon: If you like a lacy non-wired bra, try Playtex or Triumph as they both have a pretty selection in their range.

FB: I have a problem – most stores never seem to get my size right. So I went to a specialised store in Australia which gave me the correct size and I found that with international brands I am a 36GG. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find the right fit at Debenhams which is shame as there is always great offer in your lingerie department.
Sharon: Bra sizes can be really complicated but you can flex between sizes by going up or down on the back size and cup size and they can fit the same – this is quite hard to explain but I’ll try. For example a 38G is the same as a 36GG in the cup, but will just feel a little firmer around the body. Some brands don’t stock a FF cup and so their G cup would be the same as our FF. Therefore the 40F would be the same as our 38FF (or their 38G). The best thing to do, knowing what you do know about the brands you have tried, is to have another fit in store and give them your feedback on how the style feels. A bra fit should always be a two-way experience with the fitter guiding you, but ultimately you need to be happy with the fit.

FB: Do you stock ranges for cup size 38FF? Also, how much are Sloggi briefs at present?
Sharon: We have a plenty of lovely styles in a 38FF. All designs in our Gorgeous range, as well as Fantasie and Freya, offer great styles in that size. If they are not available in your local store there’s lots of choice online, so please feel free to have a look here - http://bit.ly/14ddTQ1

FB: I’m a 40E and have always had an ample bosom, but as I’m getting older I find the balcony bras I have always worn aren’t giving me the support needed. However, I find full cup bras come too high up the bust and show under most of my clothes because I wear a lot of v necks – what would you recommend Sharon?
Sharon: As I have mentioned before part of the bra fitting experience is about finding the right style that suit your shape and offers you support, it’s not just getting the right size. As an E cup you’re lucky to have quite a bit of choice of brands, I would suggest that you try brands specifically designed for a fuller bust as they will tend to offer you more support and will make your décolletage look great under your v-neck tops.

FB: I always want to buy beautiful underwear but never feel confident enough to buy. Does sexy underwear actually give you confidence and how do I overcome my fear of buying really nice underwear?
Sharon: Great fitting lingerie will give you confidence, as it’s important to have the right size on to make your outfit look better. If you feel uncomfortable, I suggest making a free appointment with our personal shoppers – who are also bra fit trained. They will have plenty of time to spend with you, suggest styles that would suit you and will most definitely make sure you leave feeling fabulous.

The last two weekends we’ve been watching with wonder at the fabulous fashions of Coachella – the annual Californian music festival that, for us, symbolises the start of our favourite fashion time of the year… festival season.

What do we love about festivals? Well, only at a music festival can you wear a miniscule bikini top with the tiniest of shorts and not get something of a reputation, only at a music festival can you get away with a kaftan far from the beach and, a favourite for us, only at festival can you go overboard on hippie chic and actually win style plaudits for looking like a throwback to Woodstock. Oh festival fashion – how we’ve missed you.

The best thing about festival fashion is that, if you stick to the basics, you really can’t go wrong. Hotpants, check; flowing maxi dresses, check; kaftan, check; over-sized sunnies, check.
