Festival season is now well underway, with a few favourites – such as V and Bestival – still to come. In honour of this, we’ve decided to showcase a few our of our own favourites, all in the name of festival fashion…
The beauty of festival attire is that you can basically perk up any item of clothing you already own, styling it ready for the music crowd with the addition of just a few on-trend accessories.
This season, tribal chic is all the rage so a stunning feather-adorned necklace by Red Herring, or a tribal-inspired belt, is the perfect accompaniment to take your denim hot pants and simple tee, right out of classic and forward into fashion.
When it comes to glitter, there’s nothing to say that festivals don’t do glamour – quite the contrary. Add some bits of sparkle with some oversized earrings or a pair of bejewelled flips flops. If it rains, don’t worry – wellies look great with summer dresses, especially if you opt for an eye-catching pair with a unique print.

If you do wish to go all out and a few key festival pieces to your summer wardrobe, we suggest a maxi – again tribal tones are key for the moment. We love the striped maxi dress Red Herring. It’s worth remembering too, that the more bold the pattern, the less it will wrinkle in your suitcase. No self-respecting style queen would ever attempt festival chic, while messed up and creased.
Sticking with the mantra that patterned is perfect, a few staple tees are essential for festival mode. Easy to pack, they take up very little room allowing you to stock up in abundance. When it’s very difficult to tell if the sun will shine or the rain will endlessly pour, it pays to have a few back up options stored away in your tent.
And finally, a playsuit simply screams festival ‘fabulous’, with long or short styles available, depending on your preference. Here at Debenhams, we love the options at Floozie… Simply festival fabulous.
