Front Row Fashion Tops

London Fashion Week arrives in London this week and, to celebrate, we’ve decided to round up a few of our favourite pieces for the season ahead, guaranteed to get you noticed, fast-tracked to the front row…

The biggest misconception, with the fashion crowd, is that we all dress in the most outlandish of outfits. There will be the occasional editor, stylist or blogger wearing a hat so large you just pray you aren’t seated behind them but, on the whole, sleek, simplistic chic is the unspoken dress code of LFW. After all, we wouldn’t want to distract attention away from the delights of the catwalk – our Designers at Debenhams would not thank us for it.

At LFW, you simply can’t go wrong with keeping it classic. It doesn’t hurt to bring in a subtle trend – we love the cowboy cool of this white H! by Henry Holland lace detail blouse, while the metallic silver top will look fabulous teamed with a pair of skinny black jeans and a Star by Julien Macdonald biker jacket.

Skinny jeans are a must-have for events such as this. During Fashion Week, you are constantly on the go from show to show, so it’s wise choice to select a key item that you can be confident will go with anything – it has to be as ‘ready to go’ as you are. Even better, you can keep a different top in your bag, always on-hand for those after parties – a fashionista is ready to make an entrance at all times.

If you do want to vamp it up, then a pencil skirt is a slightly ‘dressier’ suggestion, that can also be teamed with a multitude of options. We love this leather number, courtesy of Preen.

As we’ve already pointed out, eye-catching hats are (in our opinion) a no-no at LFW for an ever-chic style queen. Accessories that do work are, again, classic pieces in black. Ankle boots are always perfect for this time of year with the ever-changing weather, while ballet pumps will certainly assist you in getting from A to B – maybe pop these in your bag too for when you’re partied out & can no longer teeter elegantly in your heels.

If you’re going to hide so much into your handbag, then you’re going to need a large one. To be honest, when it comes to handbags – big is always best. A girl can keep her whole life inside her handbag, so it really should be as fabulous as life itself. We might be a tad biased, but the latest autumn/winter designs from our Designers at Debenhams and Edition collections are certainly gorgeous enough to make life fabulous, and you stylish, enough to ‘bag’ a seat in any front row.
