We know it’s a cliché, but the New Year does signify a boost in most people’s fitness regimes. Perhaps you are thinking ahead to a summer holiday, wedding or special event, or it may just be that over-indulging at Christmas has given you some extra motivation. As I’ll be heading back to the gym too, I thought I’d point out a few sports collections at Debenhams which will have you looking good while you get fit.
For the ladies, we have a new range of performance sportswear that includes all the kit you need to get back into exercise this year. XPG is a range of fabulously priced sports essentials with the latest technology and handy features to help you make the very most of your workout. Oh, and it looks good too – see, you can have everything.
Ladies… one of the most important pieces of gym kit is your sports bra. Watch the video below for tips on finding the perfect one for your needs.
If you fancy having a go at running then Asics is a great brand to stock up on all your essentials from the perfect running shoes to water bottles, trousers, socks and running accessories. If you’ve never been much of a runner in the past, make sure you build up your regime slowly so as to avoid injury. You can get some great running plans in fitness magazines to give some structure to your workouts.
If you’re taking up dancing, yoga or pilates then the Pineapple collection is definitely worth a look. We love the branded tops but also the simple brights too which are sure to brighten up your mood as well as your outfit. They’re great for weekend loungewear too which is great if you want to get a good cost-per-wear out of your new purchases.

If you’d rather work out in the comfort of your own home, then you might want to take a look at our new sports equipment. Treadmill in front of the TV? Don’t mind if I do.
And don’t forget everything you need for the ski season. I’m not much of a piste person myself, but there are plenty of people in the office who have exciting new year breaks planned on the slopes. It’s a great way to have fun and get fitter in the process and if that sounds too much like hard work just enjoy the après ski.
