Layering… the answer to kitting your kids out for autumn

Wow, after a month of mild temperatures it seems that autumn is really settling in now with the colder and wetter days on the way.
I do love this time of year when there’s a chill in the air early morning and you start to smell the log fires in the air again at night. As we’re steadily approaching the winter season now, we’re all having to plan our little ones’ wardrobes to cope with the colder weather.
Chloe is running around now more than ever and I find she gets really warm as a result! This means that layering is key for this autumn/winter for Chloe. I have a selection of vests and long sleeve tops to wear with leggings or skirts and tights and all finished with a great piece of knitwear. The more she runs around inside, another layer comes off, but all the layers go back on as soon as we head outdoors.
I’ve also just bought her first pair of wellies. It took her about two seconds to realise she could have the best fun splashing in and out of those puddles and it’s great fun to watch and brings a big smile to both of our faces.
It makes me really excited about the approach to Christmas this year as Chloe will turn two just before it. She’s a proper little girl, running around laughing and giggling and her zest for life and having fun is infectious. With Halloween around the corner I need to start planning a party and thinking of her costume. Does anyone have any great Halloween costume ideas? Leave me any tips in the comments section below.
