Just in case you haven’t heard, James Cameron’s digital opus Avatar has been released on DVD! And it’s our film pick this month. If you were one of the few who missed it in the cinema and want to see what all the fuss is about, it’s definitely something all film fans should see, and there’s a strong chance that at least one person in your house will want to watch it again and again. Oh and just in case you’ve been living in a cave in outer Siberia, Avatar is a pioneering CGI film, set in a place called Pandora and is full of blue people! We have it available to buy on DVD, Blu-Ray and for a limited time only we have a very collectable Steelbook Edition – a great gift for film fans.
A recent release that grabbed the office’s attention is Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree, the debut album from Diana Vickers. Having made her name as an X-Factor contestant, Miss Vickers has worked with some very cool artists on this record and the results are impressive. This compelling debut hints at more interesting things to come.
Finally, if you’re haven’t had enough politics over the past week why not revisit the modern masterpiece that is the BBC series The Thick Of It. Fans of politics and satire will love Armando Iannucci’s irreverent comedy. It contains a lot of colourful language though, so it’s probably not for the easily offended.
Coming next month, the DVD release of Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland – pre-order it today for delivery on June 4th (just in time for the bank holiday weekend!)
