With the excitement of the Royal Wedding still in the air and the success of Channel 4’s Made in Chelsea, this summer’s social season is garnering even more interest than usual. So everyone’s talking about the Henley Royal Regatta, one of the biggest events on the summer social calendar.
With the Olympics just around the corner, this year the rowing itself is also more competitive and important but, if like us, you’re not an Olympic class rower or even a member of a rowing club, it’s the party, the people and the fashion that’s important.
What to wear this summer…
From a guy’s point of view working the summer social look is quite easy and only requires choosing a few stylish key pieces.
Firstly, get yourself a blazer that’s not your dad’s or half of your wedding suit. Linen works well. Pair this with a pair of classic chinos – a must-have for every man’s summer wardrobe this year and either a linen shirt or if you want to rock it a little more casual, a fashion polo shirt. Ensure the total respect of the rowing crowd by completing your look with a pair deck shoes and sunglasses.
Now you’re ready to enjoy the party, just don’t forget to bring the champagne, strawberries and sun cream!
