Kate Middleton, Fearne Cotton, Kim Kardashian, Jessica Simpson, Fergie – the list of pregnant celebrities is endless. Is it the same for we non-celebrity folk? Are we witnessing a baby boom? We are indeed, with the surge in pregnancy attributed by ‘experts’ to; the recession (couples staying in more), the Kate and William effect – and ‘inspiration’ from Fifty Shades of Grey.

While reasons such as the above (in particular the latter) are somewhat dubious, there’s no reason that anyone’s maternity style should be equally as questionable. Look at Kate Middleton, for example – five months gone and still as stylish as ever.

A Kate inspired wardrobe staple has to be the jersey dress; both flattering and comfortable, perfectly flattering for those early stages of pregnancy. At Debenhams, we have a gorgeous range, with earthy tones (like those sported by the Duchess of Cambridge herself) available in abundance.

Fast forward a few months, and a simple wrap dress will need a lot more give to grow for that bump. When it comes to the latter stages of your pregnancy, we suggest a simple maxi dress will do the job just nicely – Heidi Klum seems to agree.

Strapless or halter-necked, patterned or plain, there’s a long and lovely dress to suit your beautifully blooming bump. With summer looming, we’ve followed the supermodel’s style and found a few options for you to get the German yummy mummy’s look.

What’s your maternity style? Fitted and bump-focused, or flowing and fabulously slimming? Let us know below. We’ll be showcasing many maternity looks as the aforementioned ladies progress through their pregnancy, so give us a hint of what you’d like to see.

Keep popping back to the Debenhams blog and we can guarantee maternity style made fabulous.
