As Breast Cancer Awareness Month gets underway, we are delighted to reveal our exciting plans and exclusive products to help raise money for Breast Cancer Now.
We kicked off the start of the month in style with a special in-store performance by the cast of West End theatre show Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.
Vivien Carter, who plays Carole King in the award winning musical, was joined by The Shirelles, and performed a set on a grand piano at our Oxford Street store, wowing Saturday shoppers with classic chart-topping tunes. The in-store event also marked the launch of our campaign #GetBackToYou which aims to support women going through breast cancer. See below the face of our Spirit mastectomy bra range, Wendy and her daughters, joined by the cast from the Beautiful Musical.
Here at Debenhams, we’ve been working with breast cancer charities for more than 14 years and in that time we have raised over £4 million to support pioneering breast cancer research. We are proud to support Breast Cancer Now, the UK’s largest breast cancer charity. Every year more than 50,000 women are diagnosed with this devastating disease, and nearly 12,000 women lose their lives to it. We share their ambition: to stop women dying from breast cancer by 2050.
This year we hope to raise 200,000 through the sale of exclusive products that carry a donation to the charity, and via staff fundraising activity in stores. Our in-store cafes will also be joining in with the fundraising with slices of the limited edition ‘Pink Heart’ cake donating 30p from each slice sold to Breast Cancer Now.
