This year Debenhams celebrates 15 years of supporting breast cancer research. With the help of our staff, customers and supporters, we have raised over £4.7 million for the cause – and this year, we hope to push it over the £5 million mark. Get involved and help us raise awareness and much needed funds. Together we can make a difference. Together we are #PowerfulPink.
Here is everything you need to know -from the events to the covetable products- so that you can support Breast Cancer Awareness Month…
Get a Tattoo
We’ve created some #PowerfulPink tattoos and for a recommended donation of £1 you can stick on the tattoo and show us your best #PowerfulPink pose. Some of our designers have already got involved…
We’ve put together a special range that ensures you get something nice, while giving a donation in honour of BCAM. Whether you’re looking for a new beauty set or lingerie, the collection donates to BCAM so you can feel extra good about your purchase.
What we’ve done so far…
We’ve been busy raising money and awareness for BCAM, here are a few of the activities we’ve held this year.
We wanted to make sure that we treated some of the incredibly inspirational women -that Breast Cancer Now supports- to a bit of a pamper session. Over the course of October we are arranging a series of makeovers, pairing up women who’ve been through breast cancer with some of our designers. First up was Lauren and Connie who we’re treated to a makeover from Henry Holland a goodie bag courtesy of Bare Minerals.
In late September we invited five Breast Cancer Now ambassadors to come and join our lingerie team for a special design session to start designing the Spirit post-surgery range for 2017. The group talked about design, shape, colour and style. Then, they created moodboards showing what they’d like to see. Our lingerie team are now going away to work their ideas up and the fantastic group will continue to be involved as the designs come together.
A donation from the sale of the products will be made to either Breast Cancer Now (registered charity nos. 1160558 & SC045584) or Breast Cancer Ireland (registered charity no. 19926).
