In the week when the gardens of The Chelsea Flower Show arrive in full bloom to charm us again, some interesting news has reached Debenhams Towers.
More and more of us are choosing faux flowers instead of the real thing. At first this surprised us but once we checked out the Grey Rose by Jane Packer range of artificial flowers, it made perfect sense.
New, skilful production techniques and incredible attention to detail has resulted in many modern fake flowers being undistinguishable from their natural counterparts in every way bar touch.
When we asked resident expert Ed Watson to explain this recent surge in popularity, he said “They’re cheaper than real flowers, are always in bloom and never need watering. And we can guarantee that none of them will ever suffer from greenfly!”
The most popular artificial flower this year is the coral ranunulus, which is a new line launched this spring. In fact, demand has been so great that a range of single short stems has been introduced as faux flower enthusiasts begin making their own artificial flower arrangements.
If you enjoy flower arranging, faux or real, then why not send them in? We’d love to see them!
