It’s Monday and, let’s be honest, we’d all rather be tucked up in bed recovering from the weekend. So, to perk us up for the week ahead, we’ve decided to give you a sneak peek of how fabulous our new AW13 collections are – we just know they’ll perk you up too.

From chic girl-about-town style to winter statement pieces and fashion that breaks all the rules, here’s a round-up of some of the garments we’re most excited to shop in the season ahead.
Our first look is one that we can’t wait to don for the office – we’ll jump out of bed the first Monday that this ensemble is waiting in our wardrobes. A smart, but trendy, look the over-sized deep pink coat from Jonathan Saunders/EDITION is a key piece that this editor has had her eye on ever since the autumn/winter press day. This was way back in May, so surely that’s patience enough?

Other pieces in this selection include the Star by Julien Macdonald faux leather panel trousers, checked shirt from Betty Jackson.Black and accessories such as the Hematite spike necklace from Red Herring, gorgeous tweed bag and – forget the little black dress – the new must-have is a pair of little black boots.
If there’s one thing we suggest you do this autumn/winter, it’s take a walk on the wild side, with animal print a huge upcoming trend. A powerful print, the key to working this look is to be sure not to over-do it. If you opt for an eye-catching piece, such as this bold bag from J by Jasper Conran, then keep the rest of your look subtle. Otherwise the look will be less beautiful lady, more Bet Lynch.

For a little animal magic, we suggest teaming the J by Jasper Conran bag with another winter trend – berry tones. The warm tone is perfect for the winter months, bringing a sophisticated feel to any outfit – the above dress by Star by Julien Macdonald is a fine example of how berry works best. Flatter the combination of berry colouring and animal print with a charcoal grey chic tweed coat and this classic pair of winter knee high boots – both coming soon to J by Jasper Conran.
Our third and final ‘sneak peek’ style is the for the kind of girl who breaks all the fashion rules. Tartan minis are no longer reminiscent of the cute little skirts we once wore to infant school. On the contrary, come autumn/winter ’13 tartan is leading the way for a trend that’s a force to be reckoned with – punk spirit.

Inspired by the Met ball and its punk-themed gala held earlier this year – by none other than American Vogue’s Anna Wintour, no less -  Henry Holland’s collection for Debenhams looks set to lead the way with a little fashion rebellion, in the way that only Henry knows how.

We suggest softening the look with a gorgeous piece of knitwear such as the above Red Herring jumper, maintaining the edge with biker boots (also Red Herring), a J by Jasper Conran leather jacket and some funky accessories. We love this beaded clutch and the Butterfly by Matthew Williamson jewel ear cuff – the embodiment of punk spirit.

As we round-up this autumn/winter selection the rain is pouring down outside. Apparently the sunshine is making a return tomorrow but, if it doesn’t, we wouldn’t be that sorry to say goodbye to summer. With stylish treats like this in store, one has to wonder if any fashion lover would?

Keep an eye out for our womenswear new arrivals to be sure you don’t miss out on any of these new season styles.
