With the Spring/Summer season tantalisingly close it’s time to stop daydreaming of sunnier times and start taking action!

The key trends for SS12 are refreshingly wearable and our selection of top brands and hit designer collections means we offer various interpretations to cater for all tastes. Here are some top trends to look out for when searching for your new season wardrobe…

The key to-do of the moment is to get yourself noticed but apart from that it is pretty much a playground for fashionable fun and games and ANYTHING goes! Mix and match prints and colours and be as bold as you dare – colour-clashing is big but print-clashes are officially HUGE!

Bright colours, in the form of stripes, blocks, prints and statement detailing, are must-wears and no longer the reserve of the tanned either!
We love how this trend works with evening and special occasion wear too, and with key shades of hot pink, sunshine yellow and tangerine orange you’ll certainly stand out from the crowd in this bevy of beauties.
Check out this Lime Pleated Smock Dress from Betty Jackson.Black – great for adding some vibrant colour into your summer wardrobe! Jonathan Saunders/Edition have a Bright Pink Pencil Skirt that is perfect for special occasions and we also have a lot of love for Joe Brown’s Multi Coloured Fab and Funky Mac – the perfect seasonal cover-up and a real statement piece!

Pastels are the under-appreciated darling of the fashion world but SS12 sees them enjoy a new lease of life and some added attitude. More than cutesy shades of baby pink and blue, this year pastels are far from sickly sweet and much more candy cool. Highlights of sorbet and shimmering metallic fabrics ensure this look is fresh and feminine with an edge. We love this Yellow Panel Shift Dress from Star by Julien MacDonald for a glamorous but elegant take on this fab trend, whilst this Yellow Umbrella Print Cardigan, from Red Herring, is a lovely lightweight and ironic cover-up for the Great British summer-time!

Florals are a spring/summer essential as far as we’re concerned and the fashion world most definitely agrees. This year floral prints have been turned on their head and given the centre stage. As a result, top to toe floral is a go-go and you can forget subtle floral embroideries; the only way to do this look is in full-bloom. We have a few favourites for this one! The White Tulip Print Prom Dress from Debenhams Collection is perfect for special occasions, the Red Daisy Print Day Dress from H! by Henry Holland gives the trend a cute and kooky youthful spin, the Turquoise Sequinned Floral Dress from Debenhams Casual Collection is a holiday must-have, whilst the Rocha. John Rocha Black Floral Shift Dress has got ‘lunch with the girls’ written all over it!

As you can see we’re spoilt for choice right now but the good thing is we don’t have to choose. As long as you match your base colours you can go to town on the print and highlights – Have fun ladies!
