The Clothing Ceremony

Britain's Kate Moss (4th L, front), Naom

On 12th August, the world watched in awe at the closing ceremony for this summer’s 2012 games. For us fashion-loving folk here at Debenhams, we couldn’t help but notice the clothing element of this closing ceremony, with Debenhams fashionably represented in the British style section of this mesmerising show…

Ok, if we’re being pedantic, we weren’t featured in the show exactly, but one of our designers for Edition, Jonathan Saunders, certainly made a dazzling impression. Having been asked to dress London-born Jourdan Dunn, the supermodel stunned when she took to the floor in a gold and white jersey dress and statement headpiece, created by the talented Mr Saunders himself. Nearby, a dashing David Gandy represented the male ‘face’ of fashion – the perfect accessory to a Jonathan Saunders’ design if ever we saw one. Maybe we can stock him in Debenhams this year…

Beautiful clothes, gorgeous men… on this Sunday evening we were completely in our element. Now, in an effort to look half as amazing as Ms Dunn (and in the hope of encouraging David Gandy to walk by our side), we’re excitedly anticipating the new season collection from Jonathan Saunders – as well as designers such as Roksanda Ilincic and Preen – in the autumn/winter 12/13 ranges from Edition for Debenhams.
