The latest cinematic version of The Great Gatsby is due to hit our screens any day now and, if the screen shots we’ve glimpsed so far are anything to go by, it’s been more than worth the wait – if only for the fashion.
In honour of the film’s release we’ve had a look through our fabulous collections to see how we can pick up a spot of ‘Gatsby Glamour’ – just like Carey Mulligan (Daisy in the new adaptation), who’ll be dazzling our screens alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. Between Leo and the gorgeous costumes, we can’t decide who/what we’d prefer more.
In light of the Gatsby ‘look’ being easier to shop than its leading man, we’re plumping for the former by snapping up the above selection for our next night out on the town. The Debut faux fur shrug is a perfect modern-day take on Daisy’s penchant for feather boas, while the Top Hat by Stephen Jones sequin bow headpiece is a fresh way of working a thirties-style bejewelled headband.
No.1 by Jenny Packham, with a gorgeous range of embellished dresses, is the go-to label for decadent glamour – we love this dark grey embellised dress with sexy sheer mesh detail on back. When it comes to accessorising the rule is that the more pearls, the better. Jon Richard do some gorgeous earrings and bracelets in their current collection. Complete the look with sparkling heels (we’ve chosen a sexy t-bar style from Call It Spring) and a beaded clutch such as this dusky pink design, also from Top Hat by Stephen Jones.
With a flash of thirties glamour, who knows, we may even find our own (equally) dashing leading man, just like Carey and DiCaprio. Fabulous fashion and a gorgeous man as an added accessory? Now that, would truly be great…
