Los Angeles is the home of the glamorous and last night the spotlight was on the stars and their stunning designer gowns at the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards. The red carpet was looking more colourful than ever last night, with celebrities opting for softer hues or jewel tones.
Black is the usual colour of choice when it comes to red carpet glamour, however this season, pastels and bright jewel tones have taken over.
The colour that we saw the most of last night was pink. Pink is the colour of the season, and last night, tinseltown’s finest stars certainly embraced it. From rose pinks to deep fuchsias, the red carpet was filled with every shade of pink possible. It seems as though it is not only dominating the red carpet but also the British high street…
I think we are all slightly envious that we couldn’t be there last night, with stars such as Rose Byrne and Kerry Washington taking over the red carpet in soft pink floor length gowns. The ‘How I Met Your Mother’ star, Cobie Smulders, was certainly one of the best dressed at the Emmys, in a sophisticated, strapless pink gown.
Malin Akerman stole the spotlight in this fabulous white floor length gown, she looked absolutely stunning, and it seemed as though white was another key colour the stars were turning to, and ditching the classic black.
Zooey Deschanel. The ‘Elf’ turned ‘New Girl’ star stole the show and looked undeniably fabulous last night. In a light blue dress, silver shoes and sporting a bouncy blowdry, we have to say that she looked stunning.
We all wish we had an invite to the Emmys, but if you are lucky enough to have an event just as special then why not treat yourself to a red carpet look. If you want to get the ultimate red carpet look, pair a glamorous evening dress with some sparkly heels, it’s that easy. We have handpicked some of our favourite red carpet dresses.
If you want a neutral dress with a difference then the Pearce II Fionda dress (top) comes in a gorgeous pale pink lace with mesh overlay and black satin trims. When it comes to the palest of pastels, you really can’t go wrong with the Debut rose coloured maxi dress (bottom) with satin underskirt and, for a look that’s fit for royalty, the embellished gown from No.1 by Jenny Packham (centre) perfectly demonstrates why the designer is a much-loved favourite of the Duchess of Cambridge.
If you have a luxury occasion coming up on the calendar, why not invest in one of these stunning designs. Indeed, with dresses so beautiful, one might say they deserve an award of their own…
