Clinique’s New Sleeping Beauty

If you’re experiencing lacklustre skin, puffy eyes, fine lines and dreaded dark circles, it could be down to one simple thing…lack of sleep. During the festive period late nights are the norm but as we go into dry January, now’s the time to bounce back and get plenty of rest to restore your complexion.

Night time is when your skin promotes the production of collagen which in turn helps to maintain firmness, moisture levels and elasticity so skin looks brighter, healthier and younger.

It is recommended that you get 8 hours of restful sleep a night. While you sleep, Mother Nature can do it’s thing but you can also boost the restoring and repairing process by using specially formulated night creams and serums for even better results. The one I highly recommend at the moment is Clinque Repairwear Sculpting Night Cream.

What it does…A luxurious cream-gel that delivers sculpting results by helping to define the look of facial contours along the cheeks and jawline while smoothing and firming the look of skin on the neck and chest.

What I say… True to it’s claim, this truly is a luxurious cream. Night creams can sometimes be too heavy and instead of absorbing straight into the skin they tend to just settle on top but this is an excellent exception. On application the lightweight gel-like texture penetrates deep down into the skin  so it feels like it’s actually working. I have been using this wonder cream for 12 days and I did notice that within a few days skin looked more luminous and feels incredibly soft and smooth which means the Murmuru Butter and Lineolic Acid ingredients deliver on the hydration front. The cream is packed with powerful anti-ageing ingredients and after continued use my complexion does feel firmer and you can test this by testing it’s bounce-back quality.

In terms of the ‘sculpting’ effect you have to follow the ritual:
Start by placing fingers on chin and vigorously sweeping across the jawline up toward the ear; repeat 3 times. Next, place fingers on either side of nose, press and slowly sweep outward under cheekbones and up toward temples; repeat 3 times. Massage cream on chest in large circles, smoothing up and over neck and jawline; repeat 3 times. Finish by pressing two fingertips between the eyebrows pulling up, out and across the forehead and down to the temples of the eyes. Press fingertips into temples for three seconds and repeat 3 times.

It takes a couple of goes to get used to but I have noticed the difference since doing the ritual. The massage stimulates the skin and it feels like your wakening up tired/lazy cells under the surface.
