Boys of Summer

Gents, summer is well and truly on the horizon now, and with the sun comes our excitement about a spot of warmer weather, along with all the new season fashion. After a long winter, who doesn’t love switching their wardrobe over to summer? It’s pretty much chino weather right now (just look out the window at that sunshine) so it’s an ideal time to reveal our latest arrivals for menswear SS15…

To help perfect your seasonal style we’ve rounded up the key pieces you’ll need to invest in; consider these items your seven summer must-haves, guaranteed to take you from blossoming spring to glorious summer. Here’s your one-way ticket to summer style:

Summer Dressing for MenShop the edit- from left: Mantaray kaftan shirt, J by Jasper Conran beige mac, Burton light blue cotton blazer, Burton striped t-shirt, Hammond & Co. by Patrick Grant light blue striped grandad shirt, Red Herring navy suede boat shoes, Burton sand slim chinos.

The Kaftan Shirt

Believe it or not, the kaftan shirt is making a mark on the men’s fashion world. No longer limited to the beach, the wearable top is a celebrity favourite. We love our versions by RJR. John Rocha and Mantaray, team yours with shorts for the day and chinos by night.

The Grandad Shirt

A new take on the classic shirt, the grandad shirt is lightweight and easy to wear in the summer heat. Why? Well, it won’t exactly leave you feeling ‘hot under the collar’, if you get our drift…

The Chinos

You probably already own at least one pair of trusty chinos, but we don’t believe you can ever have too many. Both practical and stylish, chinos can be worn for a multitude of events, so investing in a well-fitted pair is bound to be your best new season purchase.

The Coloured Suit

Suits aren’t just for the party season, especially with all the summer events on the social calendar. Every man should own a lightweight, coloured suit for a suave wardrobe addition. We suggest a slim fit style teamed with a crisp white shirt.

The T-shirt

We couldn’t do a summer edit without the classic t-shirt. Whether grey, blue or striped, a t-shirt will be your go-to piece come high summer. Top tip: if you’re not into strong colours, opt for the nautical theme; stripes and royal blue are universally flattering.

The Boat Shoes

Speaking of which, the nautical trend is always one of our favourites and this year it’s never been hotter. So, if you’re not embracing the Breton striped t-shirt, absolutely make sure your feet decked out in a pair of boat shoes.

The Mac

Inevitably, if you live in England, you’re going to catch a shower (or two, or three…), making the classic mac your best friend once those summer showers hit.
