How to Wear Print by Blogger Anneli Bush

Come spring time, I have a new lease of life, and the ´fun` side of Anneli comes out to play – with colourful printed dresses, coats and tops. When wearing prints, I tend to keep the rest of the outfit and accessories classic and low-key, to balance out the overall look – but there is nothing more fun than working new season summer prints, after a long and dark winter. Here are my favourite pieces from Debenhams right now…

Outfit 1: Nine by Savannah Miller – Black rose print ruffle dress.

This is the perfect trans-seasonal piece, if you´re A) not to keen on lots of print, or B) looking to ease yourself into summer with a more muted alternative. It´s such a gorgeous and classic printed style; which will look equally as good with flats or sandals with a biker jacket, as well as heels and a blazer, for a more suited look. I love the mixture of floral print combined with the frilly polka dotted sleeves and hem

Outfit 2: Studio by Preen – Navy floral print midi dress

Yes, this is a W-O-W dress in it´s own right. Some might say over the top; I think it´s perfection from start to finish, with the warm and tonal pink and navy colour palette. The style is incredibly flattering for just about any body shape, and again, it works with both flats and heels – casual or dressed up. A sign of a good buy? When everyone compliments you on the dress you´re wearing (thank you Preen).

Outfit 3: Nine by Savannah Miller – Navy rose duster jacket & Red Herring blue denim jumpsuit

Prints are fun on all types of clothing, as well as coats. For a more muted and elegant approach; I love this elegant navy kimono style – which is surprisingly easy to wear! So far, I have teamed it with jeans and a t-shirt, black leather skinnies and a silk top, and these denim culottes, with some midi heels. The perfect statement piece, without the risk of being “too much”.

Outfit 4: Red Herring floral jumpsuit & Red Herring dark blue denim jacket

I am all about jumpsuits and playsuits come summer time; sure they might not be the most practical to take on and off – but they´re oh-so comfortable, incredibly flattering, and are just really fun and playful to wear! I fell in love with this super feminine, long-sleeved multi-printed style in an instant – and the first time I wore it, I teamed it with a cropped denim jacket and some midi heels, for the perfect day-to-night look.
