The Many Faces of Kate

We’ve already celebrated the Duchess of Cambridge’s birthday by tracking her style evolution but this week it’s the turn of another fashion queen – the eternally cool Kate Moss who turns 41 tomorrow.

From fresh faced model to festival queen, the 90’s supermodel looks great in anything so it’s no wonder she has so many different looks to love. We’re taking a look back at some of her most noteworthy outfits – here are the many faces of Kate:

Young Kate

young-kateBorn in Croydon, Kate was discovered at the tender age of 14 and starred in the famous Calvin Klein ad at just 18. From then, she became the pioneer of the ‘waif’ look due to her slim shape. As a young model she spent most of her days partying and her outfit of choice was more often than not a slinky slip dress. The look has become synonymous with the 90’s and is one that we still love today.

Model Kate

model-kateAfter the Calvin Klein ad she was catapulted to model stardom. Kate was a key member of the supermodel clique, despite her waif like figure in contrast to the statuesque crowd. From multiple Vogue covers to numerous catwalk shows, she’s graced the face of the most influential fashion media. She showed she still has what it takes with a recent Burberry campaign, where she posed with her younger counterpart Cara Delevingne and she’s now a contributing Vogue editor.

Party Kate

party-kateKate certainly lives to the motto ‘Work hard, play hard’ – spotted at all the exclusive parties, she’s a hardcore party girl. The model is not one to blend into the crowd; instead of wearing stereotypical eveningwear, she is often spotted rocking an uber cool tuxedo, but we still love it when her favourite party piece, the slip dress, makes a flash appearance.

Off-Duty Kate

casual-kateThe supermodel has become known for her trademark rock chick aesthetic, giving everything a touch of je ne sais quoi, so it’s no wonder she tops our list of most stylish off-duty stars. In the early noughties she created the boho look -along with Sienna Miller- wearing flared jeans and peasant tops. Now a mum to 12 year old Lila Grace, she tends to pair black skinny jeans with grey t-shirts for a parisienne-esque look.

Festival Kate

festival-kateThe boho queen has cemented her signature look at festivals over the years. With her husband a guitarist it’s no wonder she’s always spotted at the music festivals of today. Whether squelching through mud or walking through rain, she still manages to pull off an effortless ensemble. To steal her festival style opt for denim shorts and wellies.

Bridal Kate

wedding-kateWhile the model may have become famous for her casual style, she looked the picture of elegance at her wedding in 2011. When Kate and Jamie Hince tied the knot she opted for an embroidered bohemian gown by John Galliano. She had 16 bridesmaids in total, each one wore a crown of fresh flowers and a cream dress to fit the ethereal theme.

Kate’s Make-Up bag

While we may not have the assets of the supermodel, we have the lowdown on her favourite beauty products so you can replicate her look. Our beauty editor talks us through what you need.

Kate Moss' beauty lookFor the day, Kate uses the St.Tropez Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil to give her skin a hint of colour and muted shimmer which is perfect for a subtle yet glamorous day look. She also likes to use the St.Tropez Skin Illuminators to give her skin an extra glow.
