Mini Fashionistas: The Style Rules

All eyes have been on the royal family with the arrival of a new baby, so we’ve been taking a look at the other tots that are stealing the limelight.

These celebrity babies started their style education early, attending fashion shows, mingling with the stars and even strutting the catwalk themselves so it’s no wonder they’ve learnt a thing or two about how to dress. Without reaching the double digit birthday these kids have wardrobes that could rival some of the most well-known fashion editors. Here’s the style rules that you could learn from them…

Rule 1: Vintage is cool and one must always have a pair of dungarees on hand

The dungarees are back and boy don’t we know it? After all, if they’re fit for a Prince then who are we to argue? Team with velcro or lace up shoes and well-combed hair. Choose red, white and blue colours for extra brownie points.

North West (Age 1)

Rule 2: Pink is for fashion rookies

For those that dislike all things girly – pink, florals and dresses- North West is your new style icon. At the tender age of one she’s bucking the trend of girly baby dresses and favouring uber cool urban clothing instead. Steal her style with an all-black ensemble complete with sporty espadrilles.

Suri Cruise (Age 9)

Rule 3: Start your shoe collection early; walking tall in heels is an essential life skill

So many shoes, so little time… Suri is said to have a collection of shoes worth over $200,000 and loves nothing more than jazzing up an outfit with statement pumps. Step into her shoes and snap up some unique occasion shoes to make a mini fashion statement of your own.

Rule 4: When bad hair days strike, make it a top knot

Bad hair days happen, even when you’re 3, so if those whispy baby hairs are getting on your nerves, simply whip your hair into an effortless bun for a touch of je ne sais quoi. Add a girly dress for the perfect combination of undone and done.

Skyler Berman (Age 4)

Rule 5: If in doubt, wear a hat

With gorgeous long locks and regular holidays in LA, your hat is your go-to item. Look to your wardrobe staples to complete the look- think shirting, tees, jeans and shorts– for off-duty surf chic.

Honor Warren (Age 6)

Rule 6: Denim rocks

Classic but fashionable, denim is more on-trend than ever. Team a denim tie waist top with cut off shorts and a matching headband for head-to-toe cool.
