Get Your Stripes: It’s Bastille Day

This Tuesday marks the celebration of Bastille Day, honouring all things Français. The main festivals may have already taken place at the weekend but you can still celebrate like a Parisienne by dining al fresco on bread and cheese. Don’t forget the Breton stripes and if you’re really going for it, top it off with a beret and red lipstick.

For the most stylish stripe inspiration, check out Style Edit later this week.

The Game Changing Sandal

This season’s ‘70s mood has been given a sophisticated spin that’s perfect for late summer in the city. Embrace a block heeled sandal with flares for the day and culottes at night for an effortless day-to-night look. Wear them with a polished pedicure now and then with simple ankle socks when autumn hits.

Urban Beaches

If you’ve not planned a getaway this summer, there’s plenty of alternatives. Urban beaches are springing up all across London, offering city slickers a place in the sun right on their doorstep. The best locations are Camden Beach for cocktails in the sun and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park’s Beach East for Britain’s answer to Bondi Bay.

Camden Beach opens 17 July and Beach East is open now.
